Hayley's Story

As a child, I was enchanted by the idea of touching a cloud. In my imagination, it was something magical, soft, weightless, and fluffy, like candyfloss drifting across the sky. I pictured running my fingers through its pillowy edges, gathering pieces of the heavens in my hands, as though dreams themselves could be held.

Of course, as I grew older, I came to understand that clouds are made only of vapour, beautiful, elusive, and forever just beyond our reach. Yet that childhood sense of wonder never truly left me.

My dad, one of my greatest champions and the person who taught me that no dream is ever too ambitious, found a way to bring that fantasy to life. He arranged for us to take a hot air balloon ride together — a gift rooted not only in adventure, but in love, encouragement, and belief. By then, I knew I would never really be able to hold a cloud, but drifting through the mist, suspended in stillness and silence, felt as close to magic as I had ever known. It was peaceful, surreal, and unforgettable, a moment that seemed to exist outside of time.

My dad’s unwavering support helped shape the person I am today. He taught me to work hard, to believe deeply in what matters, and to pursue my ambitions with courage, even when they seemed out of reach. Although I lost him during the COVID pandemic, his words and spirit remain with me every day, continuing to guide and inspire me.

Clouds Safeguarding is built on that legacy. It is a tribute to my dad, to the belief he placed in me, and to the dreams he encouraged me to follow. It stands as both a personal remembrance and a reflection of the values he instilled in me: hope, purpose, compassion, and the courage to reach for what matters most
